Architectural photographer with 30+ years capturing stories in stone, steel, and light.
Here's the thing about buildings: they're never just structures. They're dreams made tangible, problems solved in steel and stone, history written in brick and glass. Every building has personality waiting to be revealed — I'm here to do the revealing.
I'm Neil, a British photographer born in Germany (you can ask me about that over a good fresh coffee some day).
Based between the Midlands and North Wales, I work across the UK and internationally. My journey began in motorsport photography, evolved through portraits of rock stars, politicians and business leaders, but architectural photography is where everything clicked. Maybe it's because I'm an eternally frustrated architect myself, or perhaps it's simply recognising that buildings are one of humanity's most honest storytellers.
What drives my work: Architecture isn't just about buildings—it's about human stories. Every structure holds conversations between past and present, between the architect's vision and lived experience. Whether I'm photographing a restored Victorian mill, a sleek modern office, or a contemporary bridge, I'm looking for that moment when light, form, and purpose align.
What makes my approach different: I may shoot with one arm, but I see through multiple perspectives. I'm not interested in sterile documentation—that’s what the artist renders were for. My images show buildings as they truly exist: not as perfect renderings but as living spaces that breathe, age, and tell stories.
The important bit: I believe architecture deserves photography that matches its ambition. Through thoughtful composition and manipulating natural light, I create images that don't just document spaces but reveal their soul—capturing character, purpose, and each building's place in our collective story. I reveal the dialogue between design intent and human experience, between historical significance and contemporary relevance.
